INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAFETY

  • Verify that the baby is between 2+ weeks and younger than 6 months. Verify that the baby weighs between 8lbs and 18lbs.

  • The bathwater is recommended to be at a temperature between 95 and 98 degrees Fahrenheit.

Verify that you have a second caregiver to assist you. Place the Hoverfish then verify that there is one finger width of space between the neck and the Hoverfish. Verify that the baby's chin does not easily slip off the inner ledge of the floatation device. If this is the case, you must wait until your baby is older or has gained more weight. Try again in one week.

  • After placement, check that the locks are fully engaged and that the straps are tight with no space remaining between the two Hoverfish pieces (nose and tail).

  • Verify that the water depth allows the baby to barely touch toes on the bottom of the surface. Your baby should not be able to freely stand. In this case, move to a deeper vessel or add more water. Never allow the baby to remain in the water while the filling agent is flowing.

  • Water should not be too bubbly or soapy so that you can maintain a visual of baby's body at all times.

  • Be aware of protruding objects such as faucets or items that can fall such as toys.

Stay within arms reach of baby at all times and never take your eyes off the baby while floating. Do not allow baby to float longer than 20 consecutive minutes and not more than once per day or within 1 hour of feeding the baby.

  • Remove baby from the water at the first sign of frustration or of being finished.
